Weekly Round Up

Hello my friends! Happy Saturday and happy 3 day weekend!! Yayyyy!! We’ve all earned a good rest this weekend.

Ok so, for those of you who follow along on Instagram (@sarahpaigediaries) you know we’ve been doing 100 days of diaries. It has been such an incredible little journey of documenting the days and really choosing to focus on what God is speaking and showing us every single day. It has really challenged me to not just go through the motions but to allow Him to use all the ordinary parts of the day to shape me into who He wants me to be. And my hope is that the entries are relatable and encourage you to see Jesus in your every day as well.

I’ve really wanted to tie that series into the blog somehow and I think this is how we’re going to do it. On Saturdays I’m going to do a little roundup for you. Five of the things that encouraged, challenged, and grew me throughout the week; whether that be scriptures, devotionals, books, worship, quotes, or just experiences from every day life. It will be a little list of all the things that made the week impactful. I hope you enjoy this and maybe start making little lists of your own. I find it so amazing to look back on old things I’ve written to see all the prayers that have been answered and how far God has brought me. Such an incredible way to be reminded of the faithfulness of God. Anyway, I’m off on a rabbit trail, but here we go!

  1. Acts 7-8 These chapters are absolutely incredible. From Stephen’s boldness in sharing the Gospel, His willingness to lose absolutely everything for the sake of salvation, to Philip’s faithfulness to follow the leading of the the Lord when it seemed totally strange. This portion of the book of Acts definitely grew my faith this week. If you haven’t read it in a while make that a part of your week this week!

  2. 1 Corinthians 16:13 It’s our new blog verse so I had to throw it in here. “Watch. Stand fast in the faith. Be brave. Be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”

  3. Ecclesiastes 3:11 He makes everything beautiful in its time. The most beautiful promise. All of the trial and hardship we experience here will be made beautiful in HIS time not in ours. And it’s our job simply to trust in His goodness.

  4. My Utmost For His Highest - by Oswald Chambers. Specifically the devotion for August 24th titled “The Spiritual Index” and August 26th “Are You Ever Disturbed” here’s a little quote that spoke to me from those devotions. “When one confers with Jesus Christ the perplexity goes, because He has no perplexity, and our only concern is to abide in Him. Lay it all out before Him, and in the face of difficulty, bereavement, and sorrow, hear Him say, ‘Let not your heart be troubled.’”

  5. The Pursuit of God - by A.W. Tozer. This book is a little bit of a challenging read. I have to seriously focus to understand all of what Tozer is saying. But it has challenged me to reignite a fire for pursuing a real and tangible relationship with God. It’s one of those books that really blows your mind by reminding you what kind of a relationship is possible with God. I highly recommend it if you’re up for a challenge. My favorite quote from this week: “Wherever we turn in the church of God, there is Jesus. He is the beginning, middle, and end of everything to us.... There is nothing good, nothing holy, nothing beautiful, nothing joyous which He is not to His servants.” Sooo good.

So there we go, my top 5 encouragements from this week. A couple of other things that I loved this week were old, classic worship songs from like 10 years ago. Your Love Never Fails, 10,000 reasons, The Stand. The worship songs that won’t ever go “out of style.” I don’t think I’ll ever get quite enough of them. I also loved everything Morgan Harper Nichols. Seriously her Instagram gives me all the feels every single time she posts!!!! She’s definitely worth checking out @morganharpernichols. And last but not least my tried and true Morning and Evening devotions from CH Spurgeon.

Don’t forget we are starting up a little email list!! So if you haven’t yet subscribed be sure to throw your email in there in the subscribe tab at the bottom of the page! I have 10 practical tips for beating anxiety coming this Wednesday so keep your eyes peeled.

I love love love you all!!
